Caterpillar, Inc. Comes to Seguin
As the attorney for the Seguin Economic Development Corporation, Angela C. Dickerson served as the lead local counsel on the incentive package that convinced Caterpillar, Inc. to locate its new diesel engine manufacturing facility in Seguin, Texas. The deal, which was landed in late December 2008, promises to bring almost 1,500 high-paying jobs and millions of dollars in capital investment to the south central Texas area.
Key to Caterpillar’s choice of Seguin was the real estate package Dickerson and other key leaders were able to assemble upon which the company will build the new $170 million facility. Dickerson leveraged her local connections and over twenty years experience in real estate law and governmental affairs to get the deal done for Seguin. Dickerson worked closely with brokers and site selectors from CB Richard Ellis, Caterpillar officials, the Seguin Economic Development Corporation and the City of Seguin to close the multi-million dollar real estate deal in record time, snatching the project away from competing sites in Alabama, South Carolina and Mexico.
Here is what one player in the Caterpillar incentive package had to say about Dickerson’s leadership role: “I want to publicly single out SEDC attorney Angela Dickerson for her diligent and professional service for SEDC, and for us all.” Read more >> Seguin Gazette-Enterprise and My SA Business.
